A First Introductory Course in Quantum Mechanics
- in hungarian -

intended for second year students
in physics, informatics and physics, mathematics and physics, chemistry and physics
Spring Semester 2004

The aim of the present course is to give a first introduction to Quantum Mechanics on conceptual level, starting from basic mathematics knowledge. The mathematical basis of wave machanics is discussed and introduced. The course focuses on many simple problems, applications and exercises. Much emphasize is given on working with the wave-function, calculating average values, interpreting the wave function, solving simple one-dimensional systems. We will also discuss real three dimensional problems like particles in a box or the case of the H atom. This course is essentially a primer, and for a more complete introduction in quantum mechanics we recommend students to follow also the second part of this course given in the autumn semester.
